SweetPea needs a home!

Here's SweetPea. She was abandoned by her deadbeat owner about 2 weeks ago. She had a fractured leg and some head trauma, but that is all healed now. Puppies mend fast. She's a terrier mix- maybe 12 weeks old or so. Click on the photos and they will enlarge a bit.

Did you realize that, in the state of Georgia, if you abandon a dog on the highway, you can be fined $250? Abandoning the dog at the hospital is perfectly acceptable according to the state. . .

Update- 8/16/06- SweetPea found a home- we'll she's trying it out for a few days.

Ok, I got sidetracked a bit. . .

I still have to finish my calendar painting. I got busy doing a few other things. (Don't tell Stella!)

Heard of Squidoo? Its a information page something another, I still don't know how it all works. . .

A work in progress. . .

I am working on a painting for Art Helping Animals 2007 Calendar. Here is the website, by the way, http://www.arthelpinganimals.com .

Here's the reference photo. It may turn out and it may not!

Here a few hours work, a few layers of watercolor.

Dallas- June Market

I just returned from a busy weekend at Dallas Market Center for the June Gift and Home Market. My booth was painted black a few weeks before and I had not seen it. There is a photo of a group display in the atrium, and a view leaning over the balconey.

surtex photos

Surtex show came and went in a flash. These photos are from Stella. I shot a roll or two of film that I am waiting for them to return from the developer. Click on the photos and they will enlarge. We ate at Bubba Gumps one night. If you haven't been to one, if you want someone to stop and wait on you, then you have to flip the sign to "Stop Forrest Stop" . . . . LOL!

For those who don't know Stella and Sharon, Sharon is from Maryland and her website is www.woodlandwatercolors.com. Stella is from California and her websites are www.smvstudio.com and www.arthelpinganimals.com.

Macro Poppy on Yupo

This is a new painting on Yupo paper. It is varnished with an acrylic varnish. It is donated to Gift for Life for their NY fundraising gala- www.giftforlife.org

Daisy needs a home!

This is a photo of Daisy who needs a home. She is posted in an ad at www.Petfinder.com . We think she is a bit over a year old.

Daisy was brought in 3 weeks ago with a vaginal prolapse. She was in heat. We fixed the prolapse, spayed her- her "supposedly owners" never came to pick her up. She had been abandoned. She was vaccinated, dewormed, and tested for heartworms (neg).

She's very shy around people she doesn't know- it took her about a week and a half to warm up to me- now she wants to play and sit in my lap! We suspect she hasn't been around many people in the past. We also suspect that she came from a local dog hoarder that keeps dogs in pens hidden from the authorities.

Booth at Hemisphere

Oh My!- It would appear that I have been neglecting my blog!

March flew by. This past weekend I was in Dallas for the Spring Home Market. My Hemisphere booth moved and I had to go and rearrange furniture and things for it. Here's a photo. Before the June Market, I hope to have the walls painted black. I think that'll make the paintings stand out and shine.

Next Market in Dallas is June 23rd-25th.

new mini-painting

Here's a little painting study I did in preparation for a future painting. It is 5 x 7 inches on clayboard.
